School uniforms

the answer to success

introduction

One-fifth of public schools have already adopted school uniforms and the number continues to increase. School uniforms are very important to have in schools. Many schools have seen dramatic improvements. They promote school safety and they are the answer to better academic and behavior performance. Many parents and teachers agree with this because it would not only help the school but the students as well. That is why every school should adopt school uniforms.

body

School uniforms promote school safety. The uniforms help administrators to easily identify non students, trespassers, and other visitors in the hallways who standout in the crowd. This keeps everyone safe. School administrator would be aware of who does not belong and could take care of the problem. Not all safety issues come from people that do not belong in the building in the building. The demand for high priced designer clothing often puts students at risk of theft and violence from other students. Therefore adopting school uniforms would help reduces the amount of theft and violence as well as keep school safe.

rebuttal

People say that school uniforms do not increase academic and behavior performance. They say that the students clothing has nothing to do with the quality of their work. However, there is a lot of evidence that they do. Uniforms allow the student to focus on their school work rather than on their fashion. Dr.Viola Vaughan, principal at Southeast Halifax High School said that there school uniforms policy has done a lot for the students both academically and behaviorally (Daniels). Alan Sledge, an assistant principal at Brawler Middle School, said that their uniforms policy was very effective and placed a very valuable role on the academic setting because the kids are focused more on their books over their clothes (Daniels). This evidence proves that people against school uniforms are wrong because they do increase academic and behavior performance.

conclusion

Overall school uniforms improve students’ performance and safety. One can spot an intruder easily and make sure everyone is safe. Students advance both academically and behaviorally and focus more on school work rather than on fashion. They can expand even further in their learning and enjoy what they do. That is why each school should have school uniforms.
