Calling All 5-Year-Olds
Children learn and develop — academically, socially and physically — at different paces. That’s why having your child participate in kindergarten screening is so important. Kindergarten screening is free to any child in Ozark School District who will be 5 years old on or before July 31. Register by calling the elementary school your child will attend.
Kindergarten screening is an evaluation of various skills to see where your child is developmentally. Children have the opportunity to interact with the kindergarten staff and play games that assess their fine and gross motor skills, as well as their language and concept skills. Once the screening is complete, a staff member will review the results with the parent and answer questions.
For more information on kindergarten screening or kindergarten readiness, visit www.ozarktigers.org/kindergarten.
Preschool Screenings Available
Children who live in Ozark School District may be eligible to attend one of the Early Childhood Preschool programs, and can participate in a free preschool screening. Slated March 20-24 and again April 24-28, screenings are open for children who will be 3 years old on or before July 31, 2023, and children who are 4 years old. To schedule a preschool screening appointment, call (417) 582-5992.
Research shows investing in children early has long-lasting benefits. Early childhood education helps children improve social, emotional, language and adaptive skills, which are necessary for kindergarten readiness.

Free Performance Tonight!
OHS Acting One and Advanced Acting classes competed at District Competition on Tuesday and did very well! Tonight, March 3, students are doing a free public performance of the two shows at 7 p.m. in the OHS Auditorium. Each show is about 35 minutes and will run back to back. The community is invited to attend.
The Ozark Board of Education is committed to the well-being of each staff member and student while supporting the mission and vision of the school district.
