Wolf Pack Time
Provide explicit instruction that aligns to our Social/Emotional Curriculum and the SBSD Characteristics of Learning
Foster a strong school community using Restorative Practices
Provide positive leadership opportunities for all 5th grade students
Ensure that students have a strong connection to at least two adults at our school
This month, the focus of the Restorative Circle was "Be Who You Are" using the book/video, Red: A Crayon's Story by Michael Hall. Red is a blue crayon with a red label, and although his teachers, mother and friends try and help him be red, he finds that he is only successful and happy when he is being his true color...blue! Students were welcome to talk in their circle about being yourself and accepting others: “Red Crayon was one way on the outside, and a different way on the inside. Think of a time when people expected you to be one way, but you felt differently inside.”
Our Pack Time ended with a closing quote by Steve Maraboli:
“I find the best way to love someone is not to change them, but instead, help them reveal the greatest version of themselves.”
