Red Wolves

What they are
The Red Wolf is one of the world’s most endangered species. It is the same as a common Wolf, but it has a reddish tint, and has been said to remind people of the Fall.
Its scientific name is Canis Rufus.
This species is also known as the Florida Wolf, or the Mississippi Valley Wolf.
Where they are and why they are endangered
The Red Wolf used to be a common animal that roamed almost all of the US, but now only have a population of about 250.
About 50 of them roam throughout the Coastal Plains of Eastern North Carolina in efforts to survive. The other 200 are kept in breeding facilities throughout the United States.
The reason why they are endangered is not of natural events. Its due to us invading their homes. In the 20th Century used intensive predator control, and degradation of the species habitat. That is why we make efforts to help their population rise so that they can live just as they used to.
What we have done for their sake
People have setup breeding facilities for the rise in their population. To some people that’s not the way to do it, but for now it’s the best way we can help.
Programs have also been opened up for their protection, and have done an amazing job in doing so.
Thanks for watching
