Food For Fines

Share the love with the Community.

  • 1 can, box, or bag of food = up to $1.00 in fines.
  • Exception - Those libraries collecting pet food: For bags of pet food 3.5 lbs or more, a flat $5.00 credit.
  • Exchange food items for up to $5.00 in regular overdue fines.
  • No expired food items accepted.
  • Fines only not lost item charges.

Don’t have fines? You can still donate food items! The program starts Monday, February 13 & ends on the 25th.

All the Statesboro Regional Public Libraries are participating.

Collecting food for People & Pets @ Statesboro & Swainsboro

Collecting food for Pets Only @ Metter, Pembroke & Richmond Hill

Collecting food for People Only @ Claxton

Suggested Items

soup, peanut butter, fruit, tuna, canned meat, spaghetti sauce, Ramen noodles, canned tomatoes, canned vegetables, macaroni and cheese, cereals, juices, personal hygiene items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, dog/cat food.


All items will be given to the local food bank or animal shelter in the library's community.
