News from the Admin Stable
Dear Parents/Guardians:
As you already know through the 2016-2017 student handbook, the Harmony Public Schools (HPS) Board of Directors approved a new promotion policy on June 15th, 2016. Please find highlights of the new promotion standards below and refer to the student/parent handbook, pages 40-41, for more information.
Highlights of the new promotion standards:

- · NWEA MAP: Students in grades 1-8 must score in both Reading AND Mathematics NWEA MAP testing at or above the 10th percentile at least once throughout the current school year.
- · Satisfactory Performance on STAAR Assessments: In accordance with the TEC §28.0211(a) students in grades 5 & 8 must perform satisfactorily on the Mathematics and Reading STAAR assessments, grade advancement tests. School reserves the right to retain a student failing STAAR Assessments for grades 3rd through 8th.
With this new promotion policy, NWEA MAP scores became a part of promotion standards starting 2016-17 school year.
For students who receive special education and ESL services, promotion standards may be modified based on ARD and LPAC decisions respectively. Do not hesitate to contact campus administration for any questions.

Apply Harmony
Harmony School of Innovation - Sugar Land is excited to announce that the applications process for the 2017-2018 school year is now open!
Please visit us at www.hsshigh.org to apply for your child!
If you currently have a child attending our campus, please make sure to match all the information in their student database to the information you enter for your new applicant so that the system will link them as siblings. This is very important when it comes time for the Lottery, as these students will go be categorized in the Sibling Lottery.
Please feel free to share this information with others and encourage all of your friends and family members to apply!!!
If our campus receives more applications than there are seats available, we will randomize all applications and select students via blind lottery. The date for our lottery will be within two weeks of the application deadline and announced at a later date. Parents will be notified in the spring if their students have been selected for enrollment or placed on a waiting list.
If you have any questions, please contact the Front Office at (281) 302-6445
THANK YOU!

Those interested in supporting our team can also donate a minimum of $20 to have their name or business listed on the back of the team as a supporter for the year.
