Fredrick Douglass was a famous American abolitionist, author, and public speaker. Douglass was born into slavery and escaped when he was 20 years old. He Went on to become an important anti-slavery activist who became famous for his persuasive and inspiring speeches.
Tactics and Tools
Douglass used Technics such as writing speeches and publicly speaking. His three autobiography's are considered Important works of slave narrative tradition. He also spent 16 years writing and producing his own newspaper.
Obstacles
Frederick Douglass faced many different obstacles in his life time. First, Douglass was born into slavery and raised by his grandparents, when he was 8 years old he was sold. When he turned 16 years old he attempted to escape slavery, sadly the attempt failed, after another 4 years he successfully escaped slavery pretending to be a sailor. Another obstacle that Douglass had to faced was the people that were against him. Most people that had a different opinion then him on the subject of slavery were people in power and people that had a more money.
Outcomes
Because of Douglass' and many other abolitionists work, slavery was abolished.
