Amando a Mi Vecino Latino - Loving My Latino Neighbor

Immigration. Immigrants. Undocumented Workers. Green Card Holders. DACA. These words and many more get folded into multiplied millions of news reports and social media posts and lunch hour conversations about the policies of former President Barak Obama and the current Trump administration. The threats and actions and changes in direction on the part of our government regarding immigration policy have hit the Latino community particularly hard. Christian leaders and churches have begun responding in a variety of ways, some of which are described in this Time magazine article - As sanctuary churches, safe churches and leadership on immigration reform take shape, one thing we need to recall is the directive of love. The apostle Paul said it this way, “watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love.” (I Corinthians 16:13,14). What does love and engagement mean to our Latino neighbors? In this talk from Convergence “Live” in 2016, Pastor Alex Vaiz deepens our understanding.
