Our School Mission

Our mission at Richland Elementary is to engage students in a safe learning environment to become socially and academically successful.

Welcome Back!

Words from your Principal

Words from your Principal

The staff at Richland Elementary is excited to have all the students back at school. We have been establishing routines this past week and the students are beginning to learn the new standards at each grade level. Mr. Paris and I have felt very welcomed by the staff, students, and community and look forward to working alongside you to help the students become lifelong learners.

Richland Elementary has many opportunities for our families to get involved in school this year. Our PTA has already planned a couple of events coming up very soon: a movie night and the annual grandparents dinner. Information is coming home soon about both of these events. I also want to encourage each of you to join PTA. The cost is only $6.50 per person and the money goes right back to help your children here at school. If you want to find ways to help our school, please sign up to be a volunteer. Once you sign up as a volunteer you will be able to go on field trips with your child, help with class parties, come up and read with students, and much more. It is easy to sign up to be a volunteer! Just go to and look on the left hand side of the page to click on the Volunteer link.

There are many ways to stay connected to what is going on here at Richland Elementary. I encourage you to “like” our Facebook page where you can see posts about current events. You may go to our webpage to find it. Look for the page entitled Richland Elementary Fan Page: Also, each of our teachers has a webpage connected to our school webpage. Many of the teachers are using newsletters, Remind, and Class Dojo, and some have created their own Facebook page. The staff at Richland is committed to making sure you know what is going on with your child’s education.

Thank you for your patience with our new dismissal card system that was enacted for the safety of the students. With any new system it takes a little while for it to be perfected. Also, if your child is tardy to school, we will need you to walk him/her into school to make sure that the student gets in safely. The front doors lock at 8:10 AM and many of the students are too small to reach the doorbell to alert the office staff that they are here. The staff here at RES feels strongly about keeping our students safe.

We are looking forward to a fantastic school year here at Richland Elementary and encourage our families to be a part of this great school!

Once again this year we will be running our ASPIRE program. Our director, LaShall Jones has been working diligently to get quality classes ready for the students this year. In order to be a part of ASPIRE you must fill out an application. To know more about ASPIRE you may contact Mrs. Jones at 817-547-2086
