Panther Post
March 26th - April 1st
Hello Lopez Families,
We have had a great week here at Lopez. Our orchestra competed in San Marcos for the UIL Concert and Sight Reading contest. All three orchestra groups earned sweepstakes and all groups, non-varsity and varsity, received 1st division superior ratings from all six judges! I was lucky enough to get to go listen to the varsity group and I was blown away. Our track and field team also competed this week and were successful again. The Panthers are on a roll in so many areas.
Check out the article in the local newspaper below about one of our students, Carson Greene. Pretty cool stuff. We are proud of him!
Check out the PTA fundraiser below. They are gearing up for next year already. I love our PTA!
We have our dances coming up May 5th and we could use some volunteers to make things go smoothly. We have always had great parent help in the past and it is very appreciated. Please fill out the fliers below if you can. Email me if you want me to send you a more printer-friendly version.
STAAR is this week on Tuesday and Wednesday for 7th and 8th grade but it will affect everyone's schedule. Look for an upcoming email with details.
Sincerely,
Mr. Wernli

Service Hours
Lopez families,
Lopez Panthers should be tracking their service hours. The hours should be tracked in their Leader in Me binder on the service hour log page. They may also track their hours for the PVSA awards website. This consists of time they spend in any type of volunteer role - at school or on their own. This will help them reach their personal goal and will help Lopez complete their school-wide important goal of 10,000 service hours this year.
Instructions on how to enter your service hours can be found at: https://snapguide.com/guides/log-presidents-volunteer-service-award-hours/.
The site for actually putting in your hours is: http://presidentialserviceawards.gov.
Send us a picture of your child in his/her service role and we will display it on a celebrations wall! mvolz@neisd.net or ftobac@neisd.net
We can't wait to see the great ways our Lopez Panthers Serve!
