Soldier And Football Player
The tragic death of a football player and soldier.
Growing Up
As a child Pat Tillman was incredible gifted when it came to sports and loved them just as much as his family did. He was a bit smaller and skinnier than most of the kids his age but that didn't stop him from becoming one of the NFL's best safety and defensive linebacker.
Pat was a great guy that everyone loved to be around and an outstanding athelete!
Pat loved to exercise and keep his body in top shape and because he was so skinny he had to work extra hard to be as big as he was.
Joining The Military
In 1998 Pat was drafted onto the Arizona Cardinals. Right after the 9/11 attacks Pat was so upset by this that he enlisted into the army. He realized that he was now part of a bigger picture. Pat and his brother joined the army and they were apart of the 75th Ranger Regiment in Fort Lewis.
Tillman's Death
On April 22,2004 Pat was killed in action during an attack against the enemy in Afghanistan. Many questions remained unknown about his death or what actually happened, reporters were saying he was shot. Until one day in May reporters found out that he was killed in a "friendly fire". The news was heart breaking but it is good that his family found out the truth. His memory and legend lives on as we remember him not only as an amazing athlete but an amazing soldier.
