January/February 2016

A Bit of Info and Something Fun to Try!

We have our first author visit happening on March 15th. The author Buffy Silverman will be visiting our library. She is a nonfiction author that has written over thirty books. She will be presenting to the first and second grade students as well as signing copies of her books for students who have preordered. An order form will be coming home the week of February 8th. This form will be due by February 23rd. We will have another author who will visit in April for PreK, JK, and kindergarten students.

We know that children copy our behavior as parents. Showing our children that we read for pleasure will encourage them to do the same. Take the 2016 Reading Challenge as a family! Read 12 books, in 12 months, in 12 different categories. Click here for a downloadable chart from http://modernmrsdarcy.com/2016-reading-challenge/.

Please remember that the library has extended hours Tuesday - Friday. We are open from 3:00 - 4:00pm. Come in to complete homework, read, and check out additional books. Please remember that children must be accompanied by an adult. These hours follow the PM Enrichment schedule.

As always I am happy to help! Please let me know if you have any questions.
