Alphabet Bead Key Chains

The length of the string will depend on how many bead you will string on your key chain. You will need to double the length and add 5-6" for knotting. For example, to make a 6" long key chain, cut your cord at 18".

1
. First attach a split ring to the cord, cut cord, and fold the cord in half. Loop the cord through the split ring at the fold.

This will create two strands of cording hanging from the key ring.

2. String beads on BOTH strands- making it into ONE STRAND

3. Knot the end of the cord to keep the beads on.

Make sure the knot is bigger than the bead hole. Double or triple knot if necessary to create a bigger hole.

4. Trim excess cording but leave some.

HELPFUL HINTS ABOUT CHOOSING CORDING AND BEADS
Many types of cording can be used for this project including S'getti Cord, Hemp Cord, Cotton Cord and Satin Rattail Cord. You should also consider the hole sizes of the beads. You can string beads on a single strand of cording or double up the cording. Remember that you will use a knot on the end to secure the beads on the key chain, therefore the cording needs to be thick enough to create a big knot. Or, if you use cording that is too skinny, use a bead with a smaller hole as the very last bead. See alternate designs below for other helpful hints.
