Welcome Back
Old Pointe Elementary School Welcome Letter 2015-2016
I am excited and honored to welcome each and every one of you to the beginning of a new school year at Old Pointe. I trust this message finds you refreshed and recharged to begin a new school year. This school year will be a year of setting and reaching attainable goals, working harder and smarter and taking our school and student achievement to the next level. At Old Pointe, we are dedicated to a student-centered program that promotes academic excellence through and enriched, rigorous inter-disciplinary curriculum. Our goal is to ensure that all students become critical thinkers, active problem-solvers, inquisitive readers, diligent researchers and prolific writers. We do all of this to prepare out students for the demands of real-world so they may become productive citizens, become our furture leaders, and contribute and/or give back something positive to the community.
I offer thanks to each of you in advance for the great things to come as we make this journey together for the benefit of our students and our school community.

First Day for Students!!!!!!
Every kid needs a champion.....Be the One
Recently we attended a two day PLC conference. One of the running themes was "Learning for All." Every speaker talked on the power of relationships and being a champion for the children we work with every day.
In the attached clip, Rita Pierson states, "Every child deserves a champion: an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insist they become the best that they can be."
I shared this clip with you several years ago but think it is most appropriate to share again.
My challenge for each of us as we begin this year is the BE THE ONE.
