Writer's Workshop- Please Read
For writer's workshop, we are working on SHOWING and not TELLING. In order to help the kids, having an object of some kind to help inspire their writing would really help. Maybe it's a seashell they found at the beach, so they will look at that seashell and remember the story that goes with it, then they will spend time SHOWING their story in their writing and writing detail.
Maybe it's a favorite toy they love to play with- they will hold their toy and SHOW in their writing how they play with that toy, where they play with it, and who they play with etc.
The objects will only come out during writing time, and anything goes-- just no live animals please! ;)
Your child will be able to tell you they are ready for a new object, some stories take a few days to write, so they will not need a new object each day!

Family Friday Lunch
Click the Link Below to sign up to join your child for Family Friday lunch on Fridays! This is when you get to eat with your child in the cafeteria during our regular lunchtime from 10:15-10:45 am. The office is asking that this year, you sign up by noon on Thursday before so the office is able to batch print. In the past, it has seemed to be a lengthy process and they are hoping this won't take as long to get parents in the building. PLEASE make sure you do the sign up if you plan on attending lunch with your child.
