Code of Conduct Feedback Sessions
Do you have thoughts or feedback about the Code of Conduct? Join an upcoming feedback session to tell us what you think.

Middle and High School Choice selections
Current fifth- and eighth- grade students can see their middle or high school placement for next year on Infinite Campus. Families who missed the original choice application deadline or want to apply to a different school than the one they were placed in can complete another choice application. The deadline to fill out the updated choice application is April 21 and decision letters will be mailed out after May 19.
Summer Learning
Now's a great time to start planning for summer learning! Check out our Summer Program Directory, which lists all the different programs City Schools will be offering this summer. Registration will begin in April so keep an eye out for registration information.
Some schools may offer their own summer programs that are not listed in the directory. Those schools will share information with families directly.
2nd Annual Chromebook Wallpaper Design Contest
Calling all student designers! City Schools is having the 2nd annual Chromebook Wallpaper Design Contest. Students in grades 6-12 are invited to submit their designs from March 21 through April 21. The winning designs will be the new Chromebook background for the 2023-24 school year!
COVID test kits for Spring Break
Before Spring Break, City Schools will provide COVID test kits to every student. Students should take the tests one to two days before returning to school and report any positive cases to our contact tracing team at 443-984-1200 or covidresponse@bcps.k12.md.us.
Pre-k and kindergarten registration
It's time to get the little ones ready for school! Enrollment for priority I kindergarten and pre k families will open on April 17.
Proposed 2023-24 calendar
The calendar for the 2023-24 school year has been submitted to the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) for final approval. The proposed calendar includes:
- First day of school: August 28
- Winter Break: December 25 - January 1
- Spring Break: March 25 - April 1
- Last day of school: June 10
We will inform you once MSDE approves the calendar.
Free Great Kids Farm family hours
Have you been to Great Kids Farm?! Join us on Wednesday, March 29 from 2:30 - 5:30 p.m. to meet the animals, see what's growing and explore the woods and stream! This event is open and free for all families of City Schools students and staff members. Click HERE to register.

For families with students who are receiving special education or related services: The Maryland Special Education Parent Involvement Survey is now open. Your voice can make a difference for your child and children across the state of Maryland.

Are you passionate about supporting current high school students on their path to graduation and beyond? If so, CollegeBound is looking for you! Sign up to become a volunteer mentor, and help City Schools students get ready for college and career.
Baltimore Ravens L.I.F.T Conference
The Baltimore Ravens are hosting their seventh annual Leading and Inspiring Females to Thrive (L.I.F.T.) conference on Tuesday, April 12. This conference is held to empower the next generation of female athletes to harness and develop their leadership skills. If you know a female athlete, encourage them to apply to attend. Applications are due by Friday, March 24.
Baltimore Ravens Touchdown for Teachers
Do you know a teacher who goes above and beyond? The Baltimore Ravens Touchdown for Teachers program™, presented by M&T Bank, recognizes local teachers for outstanding service to their schools and communities. One teacher will receive a $5,000 grant for their school, a school visit by a Ravens player, Poe and Cheerleaders, and a Ravens jersey.
The deadline to nominate a teacher is Friday, April 7.
Heart of the School Award winners
Congrats to the 2023 Heart of the School Award winners - Mark Bongiovanni, Tiffany Etheridge, Peter Kannam, Brandon Pinkney, and Jacqueline Williams! These principals were nominated by the community and selected for their exemplary innovation, execution, and leadership in building strong school cultures. Read about each of the winners here.
