Math Matters!

A few tips to have a great year in math for all students:

  • We love to connect student learning to real world applications. If you are using math in a real world setting, please point it out to your child so they can make a connection.
  • Each grade level has a newsletter that will keep you up to date on what the learning target will be for the week. Mental math is also a very important skill that can be practiced in the car, waiting for siblings at sports practice or buying groceries. Being fluent in math facts, whether it be addition/subtraction or multiplication/division, is a lifelong skill that will help students be more successful in their math classes as they continue through the grade levels.

ROISD Volunteer Program

We invite all parents to come to the school and volunteer in a variety of ways. Please don’t forget that every adult must fill out a background check each and every year. Without this background check, adults will not be allowed to assist in the classroom/ library, field trips, campus events, etc. Background checks are on-line at the ROISD website under the Parent Tab / Volunteer Program.
