A Note to the Community
After TEA's announcement earlier this week, Gordon ISD decided to transition from individual ceremonies to a more conventional ceremony with limited attendees to honor our graduates.
Having a closed ceremony is not ideal, but we are required to follow guidelines provided by the Governor and TEA. We want to honor our seniors and allow them to celebrate with their closest family members. That is most important to us. But we also know the risk involved when holding any type of public ceremony. Strict guidelines are in place to protect our seniors, guests, and faculty members. We ask that all ticket holders honor these guidelines for the safety of our students, faculty, and community. All Gordon ISD staff members and seniors will be wearing masks. We encourage all ticket holders to do the same. While we may think it is silly, if it comforts those around us and protects our neighbors, we are doing our part to stop the spread of the virus.
Please understand that plans can change. We are currently monitoring the number of active cases in Palo Pinto County. We appreciate the support and understanding during these difficult times.
We are excited to celebrate with the class of 2020.
