CENTRAL SHINES
Week of April 20, 2020
A Note from the Principal
Dear Central Families:
We are officially one week into distance learning. I would like to sincerely thank you for your patience and for all of the work you have done at home to assist with your child's continued learning. I know it is not easy with all that life is throwing at us right now. While academics are important, I'd like to remind you that the most important thing you can do for your child right now is support their physical and emotional health.
Please let your child's teacher know if you are having difficulty with the family learning plans or any of the content. Our teachers would be more than happy to help. Also, if the online options aren't working for your family, Davison is still providing hard copies of supplemental packets. Information on these can be found below.
Stay well, Central families. We miss you all!
Kindest regards,
Mrs. Kuzinski

Family Check-In
We recognize that this is a difficult time for many for an assortment of reasons and we care about our students and families. A "Family Check-In" is linked below. Feel free to fill it out to let us know how you are doing. It is not required, but a simple way to touch base and let us know if there are ways we can help support your family.

Last Call for Distance Learning Technology for Families
If your student is in need of an online learning device and you have not yet signed up to borrow a district Chromebook from our Technology Department, please complete this form: https://forms.gle/TKUHXCRAJhmPSJLL6
In order to assist you in the most efficient way, we ask that you complete the form by noon Friday, April 24. Those needing assistance with filling out the form can contact their student's teacher directly or reply to this email.
Devices must be returned at the end of the state-mandated shutdown period and parents will be responsible for signing a user agreement upon checkout. Families that complete the form will be contacted with further information and instructions.
Supplemental Learning Packets
The District will continue to provide supplemental learning packets for those desiring hard copy materials. They will be available each week on Mondays at our Food Distribution sites and during the week at the Cardinal Center (in the plastic bin under the canopy). Links to the grade-level packets are below and will continue to be available online at http://www.davisonschools.org.
MEAL DISTRIBUTION: UPDATED 4/19/2020
Just a reminder that we will be distributing meals Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week from 12:30 to 2 p.m. (or until food runs out) at Central, Gates, Siple, Hahn and DHS. Hard copy learning packets will be available at food distribution sites on Mondays and Wednesdays and at any time at the Cardinal Center (located in the bin under the canopy).
As a reminder, volunteers will now be placing food in your vehicle trunk or truck bed. This will further reduce contact between individuals. Please be prepared to open your trunk when the volunteer approaches your vehicle.
