13 Reasons Why

Written By: Jay Asher

What if you receive a random box on your door step one day? You open the box and see a set of tapes. What if you listen to those tapes and you start to wish you never did? Every single word that was spoken on those tapes is stuck in your mind forever. No one wants those words stuck in their head forever, trust me.

Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers thirteen cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker, his classmate and crush who committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list. Overall the two main genres of this book are realistic fiction and mystery.

13 Reasons Why (A Young - Adult Fiction Novel)

I'd rate this book a 5 out of 5. Personally, this is my favorite book I have ever read. Despite the book being 288 pages, I finished it in about 5 days. The book is very interesting and well written. It makes the reader not want to put the book down for even a second. People who like drama, realistic fiction, tragedy, mystery, and suspense will definitely enjoy this book. The book is a good mixture of all those genres so even if you don't like one of them, you will still enjoy reading it.
