TechKNOWLEDGE' Update: Volume 4

Raymond Academy's weekly update on all things tech!

Need Assistance?

For the last three weeks I have tried to make sure I was available for all staff members at any given time. We have made it through progress reports now is the time for your iTech to effectively assist you--not just with tech needs but instructional and digital needs as well. This means: I'm coming to your classroom! Because of this slight shift, any technology request must be submitted in writing. If you see me in the hallway--most likely I'm headed to fulfill someone's tech request. I must document what I am doing so please use my electronic form. The link is below! (Save this link to your desktop and toolbar!) or visit my website to submit. Once you are in the system I will respond and take care of your request in a timely manner.

Computer Lab NORMS

The computer has gone through a few structural changes this school year and it's almost time to shift a few more gears: the KIDS. The new lab will have present websites that are tied academically to each student's grade level. You, the teacher, can suggest sites and activities that tie into what you are currently teaching in your classroom. SYMBALOO will be the preferred site to host the suggested websites and tools. Please bring your students to the computer lab in ABC order.

Want to Reserve a PC lab?

Are you thinking of bringing your students in a lab to work on assignments digitally? There are times available.

Tech lab (Room 16) times: 10:15-11:45 DAILY

RTI Lab (Room 22) times: 9:30-1:30 DAILY

Are you going to TCCA?

In a little over a month, Aldine ISD will host what has become the most prominent instructional technology integration conference event in this area of the country that is totally FREE for participants.

The Technology and Curriculum Conference of Aldine, orTCCA for short, has already registered 1600 participants for October 18th at Davis HS.

The event has an entire day of technology staff development sessions to choose from along with a strand of sessions more appropriate for administrators wanting to acquire tools on how to plan instructional technology integration in their respective buildings. Teachers can get INVEST credit for training sessions attended.

This year's theme is "Tech Like a Pirate." Come and join hundreds of fellow teachers and administrators and dozens of vendors such as Google, Microsoft, and Apple.
