E-Track (Round 2)

A form will be placed in your box for our next round of e-track. Please submit your course description no later than Friday, April 20. Many of the STEM-related courses were very popular with the kids (coding, construction, science, Legos, etc.). Our students are not showing as much interest in puzzles, card games, and board games. Another popular interest was theater and acting. With only 4 sessions, time will be a factor. If you are stumped on what to do, I would suggest asking the students. They are our customers, and I'm sure they'd be happy to share their ideas.

Timeline for E-Track

April 19: Course descriptions due to Kelly

April 24-25: Students select courses, and selection sheets are given to Kelly

April 30: Classroom rosters completed

May 2: First e-track class

May 9: E-track class #2

Our Staff is #BARnone!

April is Staff Appreciation Month at Robison. Each Monday you will be treated to something special because we really believe that your are bar none! We are excited to celebrate each of you!

We look forward to serving everyone breakfast (waffles made fresh that morning, sausage, fruit, and yogurt). Breakfast will be ready at 8:00 Monday morning!

Big picture

Thank You!

Thank you to everyone involved in making STAAR testing a success! Jenny Daniell did an amazing job as our testing coordinator. Roshunda assisted Jenny with the preparation and check-in process as well. Schedules were rearranged, restrooms were monitored, lunch duty was covered, breaks were given, and extended time testing was administered. We are done with round 1; bring on round 2! We are ready!!

Thank you to Christi Moran for organizing our representatives for the district technology festival. We had some amazingly cool presentations, and there was great support from our teachers in the preparation and support of our students.

Thank you to our fifth-grade teachers for their involvement with our chess club. Our students competed against students from Hamilton Elementary in a tournament a couple of weeks ago. Thank you for the hours before school to help prepare our students for this game that they will be able to continue throughout their lives.

End-of-Year Conferences

A few reminders about your upcoming end-of-year conferences:

  • The schedule is posted on the Hub (in our google classroom)
  • For teachers: Prior to your goal-setting conference, there are 2 things that everyone will need to complete:

    1. Your End-of-Year Goal Reflection (Part II-b)—the additional reflection guides that are attached are optional but need to be uploaded as an attachment when you submit the reflection component in CFPGS if you want them included as part of your appraisal. If you are on a Plan 1 or Plan 2 (On Cycle), both reflection guides apply to you. If you are on a Plan 2 (Off Cycle), only the Reflection Guide for Domain 4 applies to you.

    2. Your Goal-Setting and Professional Development Plan (Part III): This is where you will create your goal for next year.

We are asking for these two components to be completed no later than Friday, April 20.

Supporting Our Students on the Bus

Courtney recently sent out a link to a sign-up genius for teachers to ride the bus in the afternoon with the students. We've done this in the past, and the students AND bus drivers love this. This is a great way for us to connect with our students while recognizing them for BLAST behavior on the bus. Our discipline data supports the need for doing this, so please consider signing up for a day or two on the link below. Thank you!!

Professional Development Opportunities

Are you interested in growing your knowledge in the area of technology and teaching strategies? This summer, our cluster is looking to hold an EduConference at one of our campuses to provide you the opportunity to collaborate with fellow teachers. If you are interested in sharing your knowledge on a technology-related topic, please let me know.

Some of you are familiar with Seesaw, the app that teachers can use to digitally store student work. Here is a link to the app if you are not familiar:

If you haven't considered being a Seesaw ambassador, check this out:

Being an ambassador allows you to use the premium features for free and affords you the opportunity to collaborate with other ambassadors.
