COIN WARS UPDATE

It was a battle of the ages! Yesterday was absolute lobby pandemonium as all of our warriors made their final attacks. Who is the victor? Is it 4th grade who was knocked down to the bottom after the first day? Is it 1st grade who sat at the top the entire week? Will it be the prediction of 2nd grade to take it all? Is it 5th grade who rallied on the final days to get everyone's support?

Here are the final standings:

Last place - 8th grade

8th place - 7th grade

7th place - 6th grade

6th place - 1st grade

5th place - Kindergarten

4th place - 5th grade

3rd place - 3rd grade

The top two teams were separated by $125!!

2nd place goes to - 4th grade

That means the winner of our 2022 coin wars is 2nd grade! Congratulations to our victors! We can't wait to hear what kind of party you choose for your class.

We raised $5,043.36. Every penny will be reinvested into our scholars, faculty & school via our PTO. We don't pay one penny out to any kind of fees and it takes only elbow grease and fun daily updates to make it a success. Thank you so much for your support and we will see you next year!

THESPIAN COMPETITION

Last weekend, Thespian Troupe 89244 went to district competition representing Franklin Academy Palm Beach Gardens. We are proud to announce that EVERY scholar qualified for State competition by achieving either a Superior or an Excellent ranking for their performances and presentations. This is unheard of for taking 25 pieces to competition.

WAGGLE PROGRESS

MYP ID REMINDER

Beginning on Monday, November 14, 2022, any MYP student who does not have a school ID that day will be sent to the upstairs office to have a replacement ID printed. The scholar's Power School account will then be charged $10.00.

This charge will occur each time a replacement school ID is printed.

It is imperative that all MYP student has his/her ID on every day. It is a part of the Franklin Uniform Policy (page 19). Please speak with your scholar about placing the ID in their backpack as soon as school is over. This will eliminate losing the ID or leaving it at home. Thank you!

ATTENDANCE POLICY

The National Center for Education Statistics states, "students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve at higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance. This relationship between attendance and achievement may appear early in a child's school career."

Please review the attendance policy below as it is stated in the Franklin Academy Parent-Student Handbook on page 8.

SCHOOL COMMUNICATION REMINDER

From the Parent-Student Handbook:

Communication between school and home is essential to the success of every child and the school. The following chart has been organized to support positive communication between home and school. Specific requests (conferences, etc.) must be in writing, by email, or a phone message must be left at the office for the specific teacher. Parents/Guardians are requested to notify school personnel in the following sequence if there are concerns:

- If you are using Google Chrome and have a profile setup in the browser, please log out of it.

- If you are logged into Google.com with a personal account, please log out of it.

- Then access https://clever.franklin-academy.org with either a Clever badge or the provided student username/password
