Hello,
It has been a busy week here at Boggess. Students are settling in and enjoying collaborating and supporting each other. Thank you for sending us such amazing students! In response to these difficult and challenging times, PISD has implemented a full Social-Emotional curriculum, Second Step. This curriculum is a research-based holistic approach to Social-Emotional Learning. It is also teacher-informed and classroom-tested, promoting the social-emotional development and well-being of students. Our teachers will use lessons from this curriculum each week in their morning meetings or circle times.
If you are interested in learning more about this program, please visit https://www.secondstep.org/
I would like to extend a huge thank you to all of the parents and PTA for providing our classrooms with air purifiers. We appreciate your helping us do everything we can to keep our students and staff safe as we focus on meeting the needs of our students.
If you have not done so, please visit the Parent Portal to update or complete your child’s registration forms so we have up-to-date health and emergency contact information. This process must be completed each year. In addition to providing direct access to our Parent Viewer information (grades/attendance), the Parent Portal serves as the primary resource for all of the services provided online to our parents.Click here for the Parent Portal help page.
In the latest PISD communication, information regarding a Plano Virtual Academy was shared. Below is the link:

In Parent Portal, if you checked “yes that your child needed technology equipment for at-home use you should have received a letter from our CTA. Your child may begin to bring home their classroom assigned Chromebook once we receive the signed Student Technology Checkout Request. Please make sure that your child brings the Chromebook back to school each day fully charged as it is what they will be using during class time at school. Please note that Boggess teachers will not assign homework that has to be completed on the Chromebook.
Please enjoy your long weekend with family! Remember there is no school on Monday, September 6th or Tuesday, September 7th. We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Wednesday, September 8th.
Touching hearts and minds,
Shurandia Holden

Dear Boggess Families,
Wow! I can't believe it's been a month of school already. I am hoping and hopeful that it is going well, both for our face-to-face learners as well as our remote learners.
This year, I want us to remember one of the most important parts of life: self-care. It has been so crazy that we often forget to do this. Please reach out if you need self-care ideas (for you or your kiddos).
Below you will find information about my Counseling Google Site. Thanks to three WONDERFUL parents who met with me for my first Counseling Advisory Council meeting, it came to my attention that this resource may not be well-known throughout our community. Please check it out and return often for updates!
With Gratitude,

Thank you for sharing your child with us!
If your child is going to be late, absent, or out of town please call the main school phone
469-752-4000 and choose option #3. (Remember to send a doctor’s note when you child is late because of an appointment.) It’s important that we know this information before the day begins, so we can locate missing children as soon as possible. The safety of the children is our utmost priority!
