Serve United

A service strategy of the ACTS Group

Thank you for serving your local school!

April was a great month for Church/School Partnerships and a great way to end the Sacramento Region's 5th Season of Service. Many churches did a variety of service projects during the Season of Service, and 25 churches in the Sacramento region participated in a school beautification project during the Serve Our Schools emphasis week. We are also aware of five churches who participated in a prayer walk for their school during this time. THANK YOU to everyone who participated in these activities! While weeding, landscaping and praying may seem like small contributions, they can have an incredible unseen and eternal impact in the years to come as relationships are built and God answers prayer on behalf of leaders and families in our communities.

Serve United will continue to provide churches with resources, ideas, and service opportunities and connect churches with the expertise of non-profits as they continue to build relationships with school administrators and families. Upcoming Service Opportunities: Defending the Cause

May is Foster Care Awareness Month and the church has a unique role to defend the cause of the fatherless in our communities and beyond. But many individuals, parents and churches are not sure how to begin a ministry to vulnerable children. Defending the Cause ministry was initially launched at Bridgeway Christian Church to engage congregants in adoption, foster care, mentoring, short term care, global orphan care and acts of service towards children and adults affected by fatherlessness. This initiative is expanding to become an alliance that invites and equips churches in the region to join the cause through starting or strengthening ministries in their church context in collaboration with agencies and ministries already working with kids and families.
