Our Counselors
Ms. Glorie Gentry
I will be the 6th grade counselor this school year. I have been at Fred Lynn Middle for the last 7 years. Prior to working at Fred Lynn, I was a counselor at Saunders Middle School. I have lived in Prince William County most of my life and graduated from Gar-Field High School. I completed my undergraduate work at Virginia Tech and my Masters at The George Washington University. I am of Korean and Puerto Rican heritage and love the diverse student body at Fred Lynn. My husband and I have 3 children, a cat, and a dog. We reside in Fairfax County.
Ms. Emily Hess
I am the school counselor for 7th grade. This is my second year at Fred Lynn. I worked at Henderson Elementary for four years before coming to Fred Lynn. My goal is to help my students build resilience and discover tools to help them be personally and academically successful. I believe every student has great potential. I like the quote, "Believe in your infinite potential. Your only limitations are those you set upon yourself," by Roy T. Bennett. I believe the best counseling work is done by building relationships. I like to use mindfulness strategies, art, and games in my counseling. I have two boys ages 7 and 9. We stay busy hiking, bike riding, kayaking, reading and watching movies.
Mr. Jay Levy
I am the 8th grade counselor this year. This is my 10th year at Fred Lynn, and it has been a lot of fun. This year, we will be looking at high school specialty programs and Internet safety through classroom lessons. I am from Buffalo, NY and studied at the University of Rochester and Canisius College. In my free time, I enjoy biking, kayaking, hiking, camping, and travel. My office is full of nature scenes that I photographed in my travels. I am excited for a new year!
