How Healthy are Australian Children

If you took 100 average Aussie kids...

51 of them would be boys and 49 would be girls

5 would be Aboriginal or Torres Strait islanders

8 would have been born overseas

67 live in major cities

3 live in rural and remote areas

10 would have asthma

7 would have hay-fever

4 would be severely disabled

17 would have a parent with a disability

17 would be overweight

6 would be obese

45% of children at the age of six would have dental decay

The most common reasons for children to be in hospitals are injuries, falls and traffic accidents.

There are 4.3 million children in Australia aged between 5 and 18, but are they all really that healthy?
