Principal's Update
Hello Wolfpack!
Homecoming Week is always a fun one. I loved all the spirit shown in dressing up, excitement over the events, and the anticipation of tonight’s dance. I was a little outside my comfort level on Adam Sandler Day. But isn’t that what high school is about?
I want to send my gratitude for the positive attitudes and work ethic of our students this past Wednesday. PSAT day can be a long and tiring exam. Our students took the opportunity seriously, working hard until the end. Setting this up has many moving parts and locations had to be modified. Through it all our students and staff responded positively.
Thank you for improvements in morning drop off. As I monitor from my supervision location in the commons, the flow is better, but could still be safer. Be mindful of bike lanes when pulling over to the side of the road. The IST drop-off has adequate space to pull into the lane. I appreciate the steps being taken to increase safety.
The strength of the wolf is in the pack.

Announcements and Events
Fall Food & Necessities Drive (10/15-10/30)
The NC Fall Food and Necessities Drive starts this Saturday, October 15th, and will be going through Sunday, October 30th. Students can donate in their first period classes or at local grocery stores during our collection hours.
Mission: We are encouraging students to donate any food or necessities they can spare to help us give back to the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery and our very own NC Food Pantry. Our NC families and community truly rely on this food and necessities drive, and it wouldn't be possible without each and every one of you!
Collection Process: Each teacher will have a collection box in their classroom to hold donated items collected from students.
Competition: This is a 1st period competition and a class (IST, Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, Senior) competition. The winning 1st period class will receive a prize and the winning grade-level will receive class points.
Store Front Locations: Leadership students will be standing in front of the Grocery Outlet Downtown and My Fresh Basket in Kendall Yards over the course of the two and a half weeks.
Items Wanted: Snack foods like beef jerky, granola bars, fruit snacks, crackers, cereal, cup of noodle, tuna, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit, Thanksgiving food items, chapstick, feminine products, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, toilet paper, etc.
Goal: The goal is to collect 15,000 items!!
Thank you for your support in going into this large undertaking!

You can Mail your order into Jostens, you can order online at the Jostens website, or you can place your order at School on Friday, October 21st, during Lunch in the Commons. All Seniors will receive an ordering packet in the mail this week.
Your deadline for ordering is Oct 21st.
Student Passwords Changing
Student passwords based on birthdays have been identified as a security risk, so SPS is beginning a process on Monday to require secondary students to change and manage their own passwords. Learning to secure and managing their password is an important life skill for students. They will be receiving information on their school email accounts for how to reset and manage their own passwords moving forward.
Native Families - Please Complete Form 506
The SPS Native Education program supports Native students through tutoring, culturally responsive practices, and connections with other Indigenous youth. In order to connect our families to these services, we need building leaders to share information about the 506 Form. Find the form online and watch the video below to learn more about the importance of properly completing the form.
Medication Self-Carry Checks
Starting Monday, October 10th, we have been checking students who self-carry medications to see if they have them with them. Please check to make sure your student has their medications with them, and that the prescriptions are not expired or empty. Students will be sent home if they do not have their medications with them. Thanks!
