What's going on?
The Gaza Strip conflict is an ethnic, religious, and border conflict. It is a part of the wider Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Tensions between Gaza and Israel have been rising ever since the UN gave the Jewish people their own country, after WWII. The new Israelis and the Palestinians were different in to many ways which has lead to this conflict. Gaza was separated from Israel in 1996 when they made the Israel-Gaza barrier. Now Israel sees most people for Gaza as terrorist.

Israel believes the conflict is a matter of security and defense.They believe it is their right to the land because of their history and identity tied to it.
Gaza's Point of View
Gaza has been seen as terrorist in Israel since the start of the intifada, so Israel has made it extremely hard for Gazans to get work permits or medical permits to enter Israel. This has made the Gazans anger at Israel rise. They have been trying for liberation against Israel. In this attempt they have caues multiple Israeli and Gazans to die.

Hamas is a Palestinian Islamic organization, with an associated military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, in the Palestinian territories and elsewhere in the Middle East including Qatar. Hamas or its military wing is designated as a terrorist organization by Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, and the United States.
