Nursing Celebration 2019 Edition
Nursing Celebration 2019 was held on Thursday, November 14 at the Westin Galleria, with a theme of "THE BEST & BRIGHTEST."
This event is the longest-running Nursing Celebration and most significant fundraiser of the Texas Nurses District 9 Foundation to provide scholarships and research grants to support and further nursing as a valued and essential profession.
With 363 attendees present to celebrate, 20 Outstanding Nurses were awarded a prestigious jade glass award and medallion.

President's Message from Juliana Brixey, D9 President
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 29th Annual Nursing Celebration newsletter on behalf of the Texas Nursing Association District 9 Foundation. Thank you for celebrating with us as we honored outstanding nurses, presented scholarships, and awarded research grants to THE BEST & BRIGHTEST!
We had the pleasure of honoring twenty nurses nominated by their peers, who were recognized for their contributions and excellence in nursing. It should be noted that Nursing Celebration is the largest fundraiser of the Texas Nurses District 9 Foundation to provide scholarships and research grants to support scholarship in nursing. Money to support these activities is procured through sponsors, donors, the silent auction, and charitable members. Give Generously!
Our goal this year was to have 100% donor participation from our attendees. Whether your donation was $10 or $1,000, every dollar impacted our mission to enhance our profession. This year, Brooke Baugh of the Wolford Group served as a consultant to help ensure the 2019 Nursing Celebration was a success. Based on survey results, plans are underway in preparation for Nursing Celebration 2020- stay tuned.
The mission of Texas Nurses Association, District 9 (TNA D9), “is an organization that strives to provide forums for the exchange of ideas, viewpoints, education, and dissemination of information about professional nursing and health-related legislation.” The mission is in alignment with the mission of TNA, “Empowering Texas Nurses to advance the profession.”
