JUMPING, PLAYING & LEARNING
Ms. Ginni's Class
Dear Parents,
Wow has this year gone by so fast. I can't believe that it is already December. In just a few days, we will be having our holiday break. We have many exciting learning experiences and fun activities planned for this week and for the next term.
In this busy weeks, we enjoyed talking about all of the holidays that our little ones celebrate. We talked about families, friends, love, giving and sharing. We are lucky to have families from a variety of different cultures/religions who celebrate different holidays. It is so wonderful for us to be able to share our holiday traditions and to learn and appreciate our likenesses and differences. It is also nice for us to talk to the children about giving to other families who don’t have as much as we do.
I wish you and your family a very Happy and Healthy Holiday season!
Love,
Ms. Ginni

PK 3 CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
The children have been practicing for our holiday program that will be this...
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 17th at 9:00AM IN THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CAFETERIA.
Please don’t put any pressure on your child to perform. It is not unusual for preschool children to become anxious about performing in front of people, and that is okay. If your child expresses any anxiety about performing, please reassure him/her that s/he doesn’t have to perform. You may find that without any added pressure that your child may change his/her mind. If not, that is okay. It is fine for your child to sit with you and enjoy the holiday program.
The Toy Hall of Fame: The Cardboard Box
Cardboard boxes can engage children for hours for minimal cost and minimal impact on the planet. But more than that, playing with a cardboard box can build skills that toys with more bells and whistles can't - creativity, imagination and resourcefulness.
Cardboard boxes inspire creativity and imagination as they children build upon, transform and reinvent them.
The cardboard box takes them on adventures and helps them explore imaginary places in their minds.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERIC!!
Eric and his family came to visit the classroom and to celebrate with us Eric's Birthday! We enjoyed fruit kebabs and strawberry cupcakes.
We sang happy birthday in 3 languages!! English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Thank you for sharing with us this special day!
Book Advent Countdown
This is our first year doing this book countdown. We have so many winter/Christmas/Hanukkah/Holiday children’s books and this activity will make sure the students are all read and enjoyed each year. We numbered the books to make sure they are read in a certain order.
We are having so much fun unwrapping the presents every day!
Cinnamon Applesauce Ornaments
We did this applesauce ornaments by mixing applesauce and cinnamon together until it was thick enough to hold a form when cut into cookie cutter shapes.
We flattened the mixture on a table and then we cut into cookie cutter shapes.
These delicious-smelling ornaments are decorating our classroom for Christmas or holidays. No cooking or baking is necessary!!
