Try asking your student(s)?
"Watkins Wildcats are safe, respectful, and focused on learning everyday."
During the month of September, we will discuss what it means to be "respectful".
Treating people with respect makes your world a nicer place to live in, whether it’s at home, at school, or out in your community. And it’s easy – all you have to do is treat people the way you like to have them treat you. Here are a few ideas:
Don’t insult people or make fun of them.
Value other people’s opinions.
Don’t talk about people behind their backs.
Be sensitive to other people’s feelings.
Check out our 5th graders teaching us about respect!
Watkins Parents! We have some exciting news! Our website is up and running with updated information as a great place for you to have as a resource for not only SPS information, but also Watkins information as well as any information you need from the nurse. Our website is: www.sps.org/watkins
We understand not everyone has Facebook and may miss out on some things posted there. So, you will be able to go to the website and stay in the loop. There is a link for the weekly Wildcat Wonderings newsletters as well as a link for the "Nurse's Office" where you will find many resources that the nurse has for families in need. It also includes the district's policy regarding illnesses, so everyone has it at their fingertips.
If you do not see anything that you wish was available, please do not hesitate to ask. Your input is appreciated. This is an ongoing in-progress project to hopefully be a great resource for our families and new in coming families in our Watkins Community.
The Student Flu Clinic
The Student Flu Clinic is coming to Watkins. This is a free flu vaccine clinic that will be held on Thursday October 21st . Permission forms were sent home Friday, September 17th . If you would like your child to participate, please complete the permission form and return it to school with your student by Wednesday October 20th . Written parental consent is required for your child to participate. If the school nurse does NOT receive signed consent form from you, your child will NOT receive the flu shot by Health Services Staff. If you have any questions, contact Nurse Patti.
