The contest theme:
"My Inspiring Future Career"
Entries will be judged on how they celebrate and inspire career development with a positive tone while emphasizing the national theme. Your ideas are valuable and worth celebrating!
Every adult and student enrolled school is eligible, as well as adult practitioners who are not in school.
Contest divisions areas include:
- Primary - grades K-2
- Intermediate - grades 3-5
- Middle - grades 6-8
- Senior - grades 9-12
- Adult Student - ages 18 and older, enrolled in school
- Open Adult - ages 18 and older, not enrolled in school
The winning entries for each division will be recognized and displayed on the NCDA website in June 2020, as well as at the annual Global Career Development Conference to be held in each summer. National winners will also receive from the National Career Development Association a special certificate and a congratulatory gift.
2020 Young Heroes Awards
Do you know a student in grades 9-12 who has excelled in academics, given of himself/herself through public service, overcome adversity, or inspired others through deeds and strength of character? If you know someone who you think should be recognized for these accomplishments and a scholarship award of $5000, Alabama Public Television would like you to consider nominating them for the 2020 Young Heroes Awards. Five Alabama students will be honored this year.
Nominees must be Alabama residents who are not more than 18 years old and are still attending school. The children's parent or guardian must give permission for the nomination, along with permission for Alabama Public Television to use the child's name or likeness on the air. All entry forms and supporting material must be received by January 10, 2020. The winners will be notified in March, 2020.

APT + Fund for Teachers Grant $5,000 - $10,000
January 30, 2020 Deadline!
Consider applying for the Fund for Teachers grant to design your own learning experience! APT has had 107 teachers from Alabama (including librarians) receive this grant. You can read about them and their fellowships here. http://iqlearnonline.org/course/view.php?id=13
Some of Alabama's amazing school librarians have received this grant including Karen Scott, Holly Whitt, Rachel Brockman, Jamie Peerson, Donna Speegle, Chrisiti Williamson, Pam Berry,
Rosemary Adams and Donna Hendrix.
