Letter from the Principal

BBEC Families:

Welcome to December! The school year is going by incredibly fast. We are super-excited about the progress that all of our students are making. We look forward to an exciting month. Bright Beginnings is still accepting applications and will have a recruiting event in Wright Park on December 7th from 5:30-6:30 PM. We will be giving away Hot Chocolate. We encourage any of our families to drop by and please communicate to friends that we are still enrolling students.

As you prepare for the Holiday--please remember that a wonderful gift for your child is a BOOK. If you can make time to read at home nightly, it will go a long way toward preparing your student for Kindergarten. If you need a book, please remember that our Library is now open!

I would like to thank the parents from Bright Beginnings that have volunteered to serve on our Policy Council this year. These people form our governing body and help us to run our program correctly. They meet with us monthly and we appreciate their service.

As we get closer to the Winter Holiday, we would like to remind parents that we can’t distribute gifts or candy to any of our students. We do; however, celebrate the season with fun activities in the classroom.

As always—thank you to all of our families for giving us the gift of your students! Merry Christmas and have a wonderful December.

A Note From Miss Melyssa

Greetings!

We have been learning about using our Feeling Buddies and Safe Place in our Bright Beginnings School Family. See the picture below of what a Safe Place looks like in the classroom. Finding a place at home that allows children to calm with your help, talk through their Feelings using the Feeling Buddies, and practice choice skills to connect with families and teachers, allows them to prepare for learning.

Be looking for a Talking Point message to seek your input on Parent Connection Groups. We would love your feedback to create opportunities for parent learning to bring success to student learning. Thank you for taking the time to respond to this.

Join me for many great ideas for your child's Social Emotional Learning. Please click on the Parent Sign in to let us know how you are learning with your child. Google Site HERE

You will find videos of read-a-louds, fun ways to teach rhyming and connecting and so much more! Thank you being a part of our Bright Beginnings Family. Teachers continue these lessons in the classroom as well.

Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you wish to visit about to best support your child.

Sending you Well Wishes during this Holiday Season~ Miss Melyssa

Social Media and YouTube Safety

While our goal is to limit screen time, safety is so important when we do offer opportunities for our children online. There is helpful content for children and there is harmful content.

When children are watching ANY content on YouTube, YouTube Kids app is available to download, set up safety controls, and monitor what your children are watching using the approved content only setting. There are shows and content that continue to pop up in connections to child friendly shows that children can click on, or shows and episodes that seem popular that can be harmful to a child. Please consider putting safety features in place whenever possible as one step step towards online safety. Let's work together to do what's best for our Bright Beginnings Family.

"It's our job to keep it safe, it's your job to help us."
