School Board Recognizes Students
The D103 School Board at its meeting this week recognized the student and coach achievements of the following teams: History Bee and Geography Bee, MATHCOUNTS, Scholastic Bowl Team, Science Bowl Team, and Science Olympiad Team. The Science Olympiad will compete over the weekend in a virtual Science Olympiad Tournament. Congratulate and cheer the team on by watching this virtual video parade. Please review the DW Student Achievement Recognition e-notice of teams who competed this year at their highest level.
Testing Expectations
Bring Water Bottles to School
iPad Collection
All students who are not attending summer school are expected to return their school-issued iPad. iPads should include the iPad and full case (back cover, rubber siding and keyboard).
- Friday, May 28: Eighth-grade iPads are due along with charger and cord
- Friday, June 4: Sixth- and seventh-grade iPads are due
- There is a collection box in the vestibule next to the front office for devices.
We collect iPads at the end of the school year to assure that they are updated and in good working condition for the next school year. Summer school students will turn their iPads in at the end of June. Please fill put a note on the iPad if you have a concern about the device.

Wright Way Club Fundraiser
Support the Wright Way Club Lemons of Love fundraiser by purchasing Leider Greenhouses gift cards. Twenty percent of your proceeds will go toward a donation to Lemons of Love.
Lemons of Love is an organization focused on supporting anyone impacted by cancer. They deliver chemo care packages, provide programs, and make moments for anyone impacted by cancer.
The fundraiser runs through Friday, May 28. Please purchase the Leider Greenhouses, 1625 Leider Ln, Buffalo Grove, gift cards in the school's RevTrak Web Store.
Returning Library Books
Friday, May 21: All books checked out by eighth-graders need to be returned to Daniel Wright
Wednesday, May 26: Students in Grades 6 and 7 should return all print books to DW
Monday, May 24 to Friday, May 28: All remote students may return books during in person testing

Board Recognizes Retirees and Years of Service
The D103 Board of Education honored three educators who have spent a portion of their lives teaching and serving our children.
Daniel Wright Technology Specialist Ann Blomberg will retire after 25 years in District 103
Daniel Wright Secretary Janet Lyman will retire after 24 years in District 103
Sprague First-Grade Teacher Helen Friedli will retire after 9 years in District 103

Vaccine Clinics for Ages 12 and Older
D103 is pleased to announce that there are several nearby clinics offering vaccines to children ages 12 and older.
There are COVID-19 vaccines available at PediaTrust for 12-years-old and older community members. Their vaccination site is located at 2215 Sanders Road, Northbrook.
Parents of 12-15-year-olds can schedule their child's vaccine at the Patty Turner Center in Deerfield on May 17, 20, and 24. Appointments can be scheduled at ~ https://tinyurl.com/VAX1215 ~.
Appointments can be made at the Lake County Fairgrounds through the AllVax system, or at the Round Lake site through Curative. Questions regarding these sites can be answered at 847-377-8130 or email allvax@lakecountyil.gov.
The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine will be available during a COVID-19 Student/Family/Staff Vaccination Clinic on Sunday, May 23, at Daniel Wright. For more about the D103 clinic, please read the D103 e-notice that was emailed to families.

Run for D103
The D103 PTO happily reported that it raised $13,115 from its recent Run for D103 Virtual 5K fundraiser. The money is being earmarked for Half Day School's stage lighting project. Please check out some of the fundraising participants on our Facebook page.
Volunteers Needed for Color War Events
Volunteers are needed for the Color War Parade and Fun Run on Tuesday, June 1. If you can help out, please sign up on our MembershipToolkit.
