This Week's Note From Mr. Evan Chelman, Principal
Dear Hill-Roberts Families,
You may not know that I have a love for the game of soccer. I coach, my wife coaches, my son and daughter play for the town we live in and on a club. If that weren't enough, I'm the President of my town's youth soccer association. Because of this role, I was offered a chance to bring my family to tour the New England Revolution's state-of-the-art training facility. It's buried behind Gilette Stadium in Foxboro. Aside from the fact that is beautiful, my takeaway from the tour was the quote displayed on all of the television screens in the facility. "I never lose. I either win or learn." This is a quote belonging to Nelson Mandela. This quote was the topic of conversation on the way home with my family that day.
I'm sure I don't have to disect the quote for you, but I thought about how it relates to our CREST values at HRES. Care, Respect, Excellence, Safety, and Trust! Everybody makes mistakes or experiences bad things that happen now and then. How do you react to the challenging things that happen to you? Very often we do have a choice. We can either let it pull us down, or we can think that this is something we can learn from. Next time something challenging happens, you’ll be even stronger. I challenge us all to model this mindset for our student, your children!
Enjoy this well-deserved vacation!
Be well,
Evan

Important Information about MassHealth and SNAP Benefits:
In response to the COVID-19, MassHealth put protections in place that prevented members’ MassHealth coverage ending, and qualifying Massachusetts households began to receive extra SNAP at the beginning of each month to buy food. Due to recent action by the federal government, these protections and extra benefits will be ending soon. Please visit the Welcome Center website for more information on what you can do now.
