The Cool Spring Times
November-December, 2019
The Principal's Pen
As we conclude the first nine weeks of the school year and the weather has finally turned over to the pleasant fall season, it is a reminder for us that fall parent-teacher conferences are underway. The fall conference is an opportunity for both parents and teachers to discuss how students are settling in for the new school year and how they are performing academically and socially. Please note that for the first marking period, the report card comments will be a summary of the fall conference topics. Teachers have reached out to families who have not signed up for a conference, and families may contact the school office for assistance scheduling a conference. Interpreters are available to help parents with scheduling, if needed.
All families will be receiving a pink Impact Aid card on November 6. Public schools send these cards yearly as a requirement associated with PL 81-874, as there are some federal funds associated with this law. LCPS would like to receive any permissible federal funds. We ask that all families complete and return the cards on Friday, November 8 if possible.
We invite all families to visit Cool Spring during American Education Week and participate in some fun activities and programs. A schedule is included within this newsletter. Also, please join us for PTA's Pastries with Penguins- November 15 at 7AM (last name A-L) and November 22 at 7AM (last name M-Z). Families are encouraged to bring 1-2 favorite books to read with their student while enjoying some fruit and donuts. A great way to start the day!
Fondly,
Chris Cadwell
Principal

Report Cards
The first quarter report cards and progress notes(special education) will be available online through ParentVue on the afternoon of November 11. Paper copies of the report card will not be sent home. We encourage parents/guardians to sit with their student and discuss their progress in a positive way! Thank you to all of the families who have reached out needing help getting their ParentVue account activated- we were so happy to assist. The report card in ParentVue can be viewed in English or Spanish. Our goal is to have 100% of our families set up with ParentVue. Please contact the school office for assistance with ParentVue.
