Stilwell Monday Message

Weekly Student and Family Communication

April - 4/12/2021

Good Morning Stilwell students and families,

Happy Monday everyone. 7th-grade students tomorrow you will start your final wheel rotation of the year. We truly hope you have enjoyed a vast variety of learning and experiences.

Students we wanted to provide each of you with a few reminders in this last stretch of the school year. Only water should be brought into the building in a plastic water bottle. Throughout the day these can be refilled at one of our water bottle fillers located throughout the building. Please finish any coffee, pop, or other beverages before attending your first-period class. We would also like to remind everyone that cell phones should be stored in backpacks and should not be out during classes or in the hallways. We will be focusing on recognizing each of you with appropriate hallway behavior with PBIS rewards points.

Important Dates

  • 4/13 - 7th Grade Final Wheel Rotation
  • 4/19-4/22 - In-person ISASP testing
  • 4/23 - Online Student ISASP testing in building

Stilwell Spring Play: Murder in the Knife Room (One-Act Version)

We have less than two weeks until our two shows, Friday, April 23rd and Saturday, April 24th, both at 7:00 p.m. We wanted to take this opportunity to share the schedule for the cast and crew for the final two weeks, along with information on how to purchase in-person tickets and tickets to live-stream one or both of the performances!

For Cast and Crew/Parents and Guardians of Cast and Crew: Final Two Weeks Schedule

Each cast and crew member will be able to purchase two tickets for two spectators at the live performance. Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased from the Stilwell Main Office. Make checks payable to Stilwell Junior High Drama or pay with exact cash.

Anyone can purchase tickets to live-stream one or both performances! The Friday show will feature our AM Cast and Crew, while the Saturday show will feature our PM Cast and Crew. Live streaming tickets are $5.00 per device. For more information on purchasing live stream tickets and making an account with our streaming partner, Broadway on Demand, select the link below!

Ticket and Performance Information

We are so excited to share these performances with you! Both of our casts and crews have worked hard on this show! Please reach out to Mr. Hunt (hunta@wdmcs.org) if you have any questions or concerns! Cast and Crew members received info about schedules, costumes, and ticket ordering from Mr. Hunt last week. Parking Lot Protocol

We understand our parking lot drop-off and pick-up process can be time-consuming. However, we need all families to follow the procedures to ensure our students are safe. Please remember these guidelines:

  • Do not use the local business as a place to pick-up your child.
  • Do not drop off your student or stop for any reason along Vine Street.
  • Do not pull into the bus lanes along Vine Street.
  • Do not allow your student to exit the vehicle until you have pulled up to the curb in the parking lot.
  • Please drive slowly through the parking lot and on Vine St.

Reminder for In-Person Students

If your student is signed up this semester to be an “in-person” learner, your student cannot choose to learn “online” due to convenience, illness, or weather unless the district determines that we all move to online learning for that day. Students will be counted absent and will need a parent call to excuse.

This should be done in the usual way through our attendance line at 633-6000. You may leave a message 24 hours a day and we ask that you give your student’s name, student ID number, and what grade they are in so we may update their attendance. Thank you!

After the Bell

After the bell is an additional opportunity at the end of the day to get support with learning from a certified teacher. It will start on Tuesday, September 8th in the Stilwell cafeteria. Students will receive an additional snack using social distancing and are welcome to stay until 4:00 pm. After the bell will run each week Monday-Thursday. For more information please contact Mr. Peter Bissinger at bissingerp@wdmcs.org.

Stilwell Student Handbook 20-21

Throughout this year you may have questions, need clarifications, or might need to see who you can turn to for help. Please start with the Junior High Schools Handbook.
