The One That Started it All.
In 1896 the world was introduced to a new genre of movies. Horror Movies. The first ever horror movie was "The Devils Castle" by a French film maker named Geroges Melies. Even though it was only two minutes long and contained earlier horror such as Vampires in a castle with a lost women, it made a new impression on film making.
Where did they get the idea?
Horror movies have been thought of for many years before the first one even came out. Most of the idea was because of writers such as Edgar Allen Poe, Bram Stoker and Mary Shelly. They had written stories about tragedies and monsters. So around the world at this when film was a new technology for mankind. It made people think. And that's How horror movies came to be.
The White Zombie!
In 1932 "The White Zombie" was made. Staring Bela Lugosi, Madge Bellamy, Joseph Cawthorn and Robert Frazier. People think of this movie as someone eating you but back in the days zombies were people under a voodoo spell. Something interesting was that Bela Lugosi was a Hungarian actor so he did not speak our language. So the directors had him speak English but he had no idea what he was saying.
