We are seeking 4-6 Chefs to compete in our Cooking Competitions and assist our two headliner Chefs. Saturday September 10th 9:30am - Garlic Chef Competition. This is a black box style competition where two chefs (along with their two sous-chefs) create a three course meal in one hour. Generally two restaurants are represented in this competition, however it is not a requirement to be representing a restaurant. You will be required to use garlic in your recipes along with a secret ingredient which will be revealed at the beginning of the competition. The winner will receive a trophy and the title of Garlic Chef Champion. 11:30am - Chef Massimo Carpa will be giving a live cooking demonstration. He has requested a food stylist to assist him. We have also requested samples to be made to be able to pass out to audience members. A phone call will be arranged in advance between you and Chef Massimo to discuss the requirements of this position. Food samples may need to be prepared in advance. We will have someone available to help assist you in doing so. Sunday September 11th 10:30am - Celebrity Chef Cooking Competition. Two chef school students (or graduates) will be paired with two local celebrities to create an appetizer using garlic and a secret ingredient. 1:30pm - Laura Calder will be giving a live cooking demonstration. She has asked for an assistant. Some prior food prep for samples may be needed. The competitions are meant to be in fun. Eddie Matthews from the radio station and Ryan O'Donnell from Mercer Hall (Ryan may only be available on the Sunday) generally MC the events and help to keep it fun, exciting and keep the flow of the event. The Stratford Chefs School offers an enriched two-year post-secondary program for apprentice chefs. Each school year consists of two eight-week semesters, October- December and January-March. Cookery courses are taught by practicing chefs; academic courses are taught by experts in related fields.
Job Description: A contract position to prepare, teach and mark a Writing course (with elements of both Food and Business Writing) to approximately forty first year students. This course meets once a week for 3 hours, over an eight-week period.

Job Description: A four-month part-time contract position with responsibilities to be arranged – may include teaching up to two sections of first year practical Cookery, as well as two sections of second year Larder. Practical cookery establishes a basic level of skill in cookery by introducing the student to fundamental methods of cooking, and to examples of classical and modern dishes that best suit each method.
