Important Info for AP Classes
The AP Course Audit for the 2019-20 School year opened on May 20th. Please visit the website where you can find needed materials as well as a detailed calendar of steps to complete.
Although AP teachers will not need to submit syllabi for courses in 2019-2020, some will need to complete the AP Course Audit Form in order to be included in the APRO system for test ordering as well as being a part of official course ledger. This also seems to have impacted the ability to get the hard copies of the updated Course and Exam Descriptions (CED) and which you may have ordered. While you already get the pdf of the CED from the AP Course launch page, you will still need to complete the AP Course Audit Form in the fall in order to get into online AP Classroom and take advantage of the question bank and related resources.
Those who can be renewed immediately if they have already been authorized:
- Previously authorized teachers who haven’t changed schools will appear within the AP Course Audit platform without having completed the authorization form with the exception of some specific courses listed below.
These are the people who need to complete the form and may have questions (let Katie know ASAP if you have questions):
- New teachers
- Previously authorized AP teachers in one of nine subjects will need to complete an updated Course Audit form and download the unit guide to maintain access to online score reports in July 2020 and ensure that their courses appear in the school’s AP Course Ledger. They will also not be able to order the new CED until the form is completed.
- AP Biology
- AP Comparative Government and Politics
- AP English Language and Composition
- AP Environmental Science
- AP Italian Language and Culture
- AP Studio Art: Drawing (AP Drawing)
- AP Studio Art: 2-D Design (AP 2-D Art and Design)
- AP Studio Art: 3-D Design (AP 3-D Art and Design)
- AP World History (AP World History: Modern)
If/when you receive that information that you are not yet approved, you will need to go online to the AP Audit website, login (or create a CB account) to get the form for submission and the AP coordinator will need to approve the course.
A word about Reflections
I have included quite a bit of information on "Reflections" in our July News for this coming year as entries will be acceptable very soon after school starts back. I need YOUR HELP in being sure our students know all about the process and the events as that information continues to come out. I will also be working with the local PTA boards at the individual schools in informing parents and students at our open house. We can never have too much info so please plan to share in your own open house communications, beginning of the year informational events, and even within your art and music classes.
