Happy Birthday to You!
Limeades for Learning
Write a grant!
Limeades for Learning is ready for you to submit your grant. (Via Donors Choose) Sonic Drive-In has teamed with Donors Choose to support classrooms each fall since 2009. While in the classroom, I was able to get 4 different Limeades for Learning grants filled! I received microphones for the computer (to create podcasts & the like), USB flash drives to save our projects, books for novel studies, and math games for intervention.
Donors Choose grants are super easy to complete. If you need assistance, just let me know!

Attn: 2-4 Teachers -- Unit Assessment Procedures
- Email Branch with the test name, the estimated test date, and the class counts.
- This year, teachers will print their own answer documents. I know--you are thinking about the paper ration. If you run out, we will get you an additional ream (or two for math). That should cover the majority of the answer docs for the year.
- Either Branch or our instructional support team will print these tests for you. You can pick them up the afternoon before test date in the teachers' workroom. The boxes have found their new home there. When I have "friends" in my office who are cooling down or my office has gone on lock down due to state testing, entry gets hectic.
- After you have completed the tests, keep the test booklets for your reference. Answer documents that need to be scanned, can be either put in box or set next to the scanner in my office. I'll get them scanned ASAP.
If you plan to manually enter the students' answers, it is not necessary to turn your answer documents in to me.
New Morning Procedures
If you have something specific you want your students to work on, please let the student know. We will not be tracking what they are working on during this time.
We will send 22 to Mrs. Legg's lab, 30 to library, and once our second lab is complete, we will send 22 more to that lab. Once our seats/spots are complete, students will filter to the gym to read silently.
Just keeping you in the loop!
CWT: New and Improved
Workout Wednesdays
- Please allow students to bring out a water bottle to recess this day, or go inside to get a drink, if needed.
- Know if your students are asthmatic. If they are choosing to run during this time, they may need to see the nurse prior to going out, in order to use their inhaler.
- Students are required to walk/jog/run/skip/whatever around the "track" for the first 15 minutes. It is their choice how they choose to move about. Talking is not restricted. They just must keep moving.
- If a parent asks, we have implemented this activity because we need to increase our time of physical education.
