Bridging...with a beautiful bridge!
Our Bronze Award recipient, Isabella Rodriguez, singing "America the Beautiful"
Olivia Hobbs, bridging to Adult
Friendship circle
Congratulations to Isabella Rodriguez!
Isabella bridged from Junior to Cadette and at the end of bridging she was honored with a Bronze Award Ceremony and received her Bronze Award.
Isabella spoke about her Bronze Award project. She created her own 30 minute patriotic show called "Isabella Presents: Stars, Stripes, and Songs." She chose the pieces, learned and rehearsed them and added her own choreography. Isabella presents this song-and-dance show during national holidays such as the 4th of July and Veteran's Day, at area nursing homes and assisted living facilities. She said that the people she performs for cannot leave the places where they live, so she brings the entertainment and happiness to them!
New national council delegates
Congratulations to Emma Platt for being selected as one of two GSWCF council representatives to the Girl Scout Leadership Institute (GSLI) which runs concurrently with the National Council session. Emma will participate in leadership skill-building activities with other girls from around the globe. The GSLI theme this year is "Girls changing the world" with several focus areas: teen violence, healthy relationships, basic needs (hunger, homelessness, natural disaster relief, poverty), inclusion/diversity, self image/body image, education, status of women. With the help from experts, girls will create an action plan and return home to make a lasting impact on local community.

Finance reports and year-end leader reviews
Finance reports are still required and must be completed and turned in each year for both community accounts and troop accounts. Please make sure these reports are completed and submitted to Candy Hobbs, Community Accounting Coordinator (CAC) chobbs@HarrymHobbsPA.com no later than June 30. If a troop is going to meet over the summer they can make arrangements to turn the Finance Report in after their last activity. Community finance reports should also be turned in by the end of summer. The CAC turns all Finance Reports in to the CMM. Click here for a copy of the finance report.

Change in Bronze Award
The regulations for the Girl Scout Bronze Award are changing. In the past, we did not allow Bronze Award projects to be completed within Girl Scouting. We now feel that young girls should have the opportunity to develop their planning and leadership skills within the comfort and familiarity of Girl Scouting, if they so choose. So girls can have projects that benefit our camps and/or our council. Girls can then progress and reach beyond Girl Scouting to "make the world a better place", as they move up to the Silver and Gold Awards.

The Girl Scout Promise and Law
The Girl Scout Promise
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
