"Fifteen years of Lights On Afterschool
Launched in October 2000, Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities. The effort has become a hallmark of the afterschool movement and generates thousands of media clippings each year."

Pleasant Street School
Pleasant Street students celebrated Lights on Afterschool by wearing yellow or neon clothes, glow in the dark bracelets, and light bulb tattoos. We LIT up the gym with our very own premiere of our group music video. We also displayed our giant light bulb photo collage which represented all of our wonderful Project EXTRA students participating in our enrichment clubs.

Laconia Middle School
LMS Project EXTRA students celebrated Lights On in their own unique way. Spending the entire day at the Boys and Girls Club, the middle school group hosted a dance for the elementary level members. Project Torch decorated with streamers and balloons and transformed the Great Room into an electric environment, complete with paper maché light bulbs! The perfect setting for a day full of fun. We are already planning for next year!
We are pleased to welcome Mr. Tivey and Elisabeth Mills to our team! They will be offering Weight Training and CATCH Cooking, respectfully, for Project EXTRA members for the reminder of the Fall Session!

Elm Street School
This year's Lights On event at Elm Street School was a hit! Children and their families were able to enjoy student led and organized activities. We offered face painting, poetry-painting, cookie decorating among others. The most exciting part of our event was the unveiling of the students 6'x3' light bulb that they designed and constructed.
We want to thank Giguere Electric Inc. for supporting our students and the Project EXTRA afterschool program by donating the materials used to build the light bulb.
We are proud of our Elm Street Students for hosting a successful event.
Woodland Heights School
We celebrated the 2014 Lights On Afterschool with group games such as Knee Tag, Light Bulb coloring fun, robot programming and "skydiving" (students creating their own parachute devices). We unveiled the inflatable structure students and staff created in honor of the event. It was a great time!
