Pratt's Primary Corner

Weekly Update- November 10, 2017

Week at a Glance

Reading- Students have loved The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe so far. I have also been meeting one-on-one with students to discuss Newsela and Readers Notebook letters. I am impressed with how well students are doing on their Reader's Notebook letters.

Math- This week we started Unit 3, which is focused on rounding.

Science/Social Studies- Flat Stanley mail has started rolling in! Yay!! We've also continued with our E4Tech lessons and students are doing a wonderful job persevering and stretching their thinking. They're already starting to wonder, "are we becoming computer scientists?!"

No Homework for the month of November, so families can focus on the One School, One Book project! :)

One School, One Book

Students have been really excited so far about the project! You can continue to send me pictures of your family reading together and I will add them to the slideshow!

Throughout the project you can visit to stay updated on tasks, see videos of special people reading the chapters, and view pictures/videos of students.

All questions regarding the project can be directed to me. :)

Genius Hour Volunteers

A huge thank you to Mrs. Bush and Mr. Bruinsma for coming to help out last week during Genius Hour. It's such a huge help to have all hands on deck. :)

I am looking for some parent volunteers to come help students research. Your role would be to help students with researching and recording their work. If you are interested, you can sign up here:

If you'd like to come help and both slots are taken, just shoot me an email and I'd love to still have you! :)
