Student Led Conferences
Alternative party letters were in your mailboxes on February 1. I have dated it February 5. You might consider having it in each students "things to do" folder at conferences. That way you can answer questions....some seem to think they have to sign it for students to stay in the classroom party. Otherwise, please send it home on Friday, February 5.
If you include information about the parent portal during student led conferences, remind parents that they will need to complete the parent portal form and show an ID to Carey to obtain a parent portal account. See Carey if you want the forms for your conferences.
Summer School invitations are in your mailboxes. Please share these with parents at conferences.
Please remind parents and students to check the lost and found while they are here for conferences. We have collected many, many items.
The last thing student should do after conferences is to take their parents to see the artwork in the hallways. Kim will take care of showing student WHERE their artwork is located.

Alternative Valentine Party on February 11
Alternative party notes should be sent home at conferences or on Friday, February 5. If you have students who will not be participating in the classroom party, but will attend the alternative party, you need to schedule your “party” time accordingly. (Ie…you can’t start early.) The alternative party will be held in the art room between 2:00 and 2:45 P.M. Amy, Laura, and Kim will host the alternative party.
Early Sign outs from Valentine Parties
On Wednesday afternoon, February 10, we will put a class list in your mailbox. If a parent wishes to sign their child out after the party, they must sign out with you in the classrooms. Please have the parent sign next to the child’s name along with the time that they are leaving. Turn these into the office before you leave on Thursday, please. Students who are signed out early will not be eligible for a brag tag for third quarter. We need to encourage parents who do not want to sign out early to go to the car rider line and follow our normal procedures. I realize that is going to be a “tough” sell- and it probably isn’t something we need to “demand”….just encourage. Thanks for your help.

QUAD D from Physical Education
QUAD D from Grade 2
Second graders are investigating force, motion and friction in science AND in writing. They are writing like scientists. They had to compose a question, formulate a hypothesis (make a prediction), design a ramp to send their car down and run trials on the carpet and the tile. Then they had to analyze their information and record their results in their lab reports!
Keep sending Quad D activities or questions you have tried
