Update From the School

Saint Joseph School - Nov 30th

Additional COVID Cases at the School

We now have two staff members that are positive for COVID. In addition, a boyfriend and a spouse of non-positive staff members are positive for COVID. The exposures are considered extensive, per the Board of the Health.

Father Jim Shafer and I, along with the recommendation from the Dekalb Board of Health, have closed the school for all staff and students until December 9th. Students and staff are quarantined and should monitor for symptoms and notify the school if symptoms should arise.

Thank you for sharing and expressing your concerns. I read your passion. I hear that some of you are upset. I hear your concern. Thank you so much for your patience and support. We will continue to pray for those of you who are struggling with the news and the closure. We are making the best possible decisions to keep staff and students safe and healthy during this difficult time. If you can, keep all schools in your prayers. We know of some of our other Catholic schools in our area experiencing similar situations.

St. Joseph, pray for us.
