Arbonne October Newsletter

Happy October!
October is one of my favorite months of the year; it happens to be my birthday month and there's always so many fun fall festivals and Halloween parties, plus pumpkin everything. October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Did you know that breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women and that one in eight women will get breast cancer in her lifetime? Most people think that breast cancer is a largely genetic disease but in fact, 1 in 10 breast cancer cases are actually genetic. That means that 9 out of 10 cases of breast cancer are caused by non-genetic, environmental factors. The good news is that you or the women in your life can cut down their risk by making a few lifestyle changes! Keep reading to learn about those changes. Also, check out my fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Fund. Please pass along my newsletter to important women in your life who could benefit from this information too.

Switch Personal Care Products to Reduce your Risk of Breast Cancer!
Do you know how many chemicals the FDA bans for use in skincare? The answer might surprise you: 10. What about cosmetics? 8. These numbers are frightfully low when you look at the 1,300+ chemicals that the European Union has banned because they know or even suspect chemicals of being carcinogens!
As you can see, the FDA does not regulate personal care products well. Many of the beauty products we slather on our faces, swab on our eyes and paint on our lips contain toxic chemicals that are linked to breast cancer, and other cancers for that matter. This is why I'm a big advocate of educating yourself and reading your labels so you can avoid products with toxic, cancer-causing ingredients.
One of my favorite things about Arbonne is the Pure, Safe, and Beneficial ingredient policy. We believe in transparency and honesty. At Arbonne we are continuously improving and evaluating our ingredient policy so we can develop the most thoughtfully designed, innovative, safest products. And we’re always striving to do better. Each and every single day.

Parabens and Breast Cancer
Parabens are a preservative that are found in many personal care products. They are strongly associated with an increased risk of breast cancer since they mimic estrogen in your body. Remember that your skin absorbs up to 60% of what you apply to it and those chemicals will get in your blood stream if your personal care products contain it. Protect yourself by using paraben free products, like Arbonne!
