Greetings, BCS Families!

The BCS Weekly Week-at-a-Glance (WAG) is back!

Please anticipate weekly Friday evening WAG updates which will keep you apprised of everything you need to know for the upcoming week.

It has been a busy week with all of our staff back working to get ready for the first day of school, Monday, August 29, 2022. Across BCS, the excitement for the year is palpable! As you know, Monday is a half-day of school and we will have full school days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. During these first two weeks, our staff and teachers will be working hard to create a warm and welcoming space for all students and families part of our community. We encourage you to have conversations with your children about our new Cobra Compass: Respect, Integrity, Kindness, Empathy, and Responsibility.

We know as parents you have a lot of information to review. We tried to condense the information in an easy-to-read guide for everything you need to know as the school year begins. Here are some important guides we ask you to review closely:

We thank you for your partnership in launching what will be a fantastic year! Go Cobras!

Yours in BCS solidarity,

Dr. Hakim & Mr. Hill

Big picture

No Cell Phones/Smart Watches During School Day

As we did last year, we are asking that all cellular phone devices and smart watches connected to cellular devices be kept in their lockers during all times of the school day, including choice hour, unless given specific permission from their classroom teacher for purposes of an individual project or instructional activity.

Students will have access to their school-issued 1:1 device- either a Chromebook or Dell Laptop. This is the appropriate tool for all classroom related technology.

We believe this to be the safest and most productive approach we can use to keep students safe and keep them focused on their instructional and educational goals.

BCS PTA & Call for Volunteers

Thank you to our 22-23 PTA Co-Chairs Wendy McDowall & Shelley Olsen for serving BCS in this capacity! We value and appreciate our parents partnering with us. Without all of you, we would not be the BCS we are today! For those that have already been here helping during our Back-to-School Days, THANK YOU! We value and appreciate any time you are willing to provide and hope you will use the form below to indicate how you may be able to help volunteer with us this year!
