A Note From Mrs. Donnell
Spring Break is over and we are now only 39 school days away from the end of the 2018-2019 school year! It will fly by so fast! Please encourage your CCS student(s) to finish this last nine weeks strong! (See video below) https://youtu.be/pAACRmpgmsU
Lots of exciting things will be happening over the next couple of months, please make sure you are checking our Facebook page, reading your weekly CCS Newsletter, checking your email, text messages and Renweb messages. We don’t want anyone to miss out on fellowship opportunities for our students, staff and families.
God is doing great things at CCS and we are so excited!
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
Blessings,
Mrs. Donnell
Open house invitation for you!
CCS Families,
Do you have friends and family members who wonder what a PreK-12th grade Christian education looks like? Now you can show them!
Come! and invite your friends to our All-School Open House on Thursday, April 18th from 5:30-7:30pm. This will be an evening where both current and future families can witness Christ-centered academic instruction, see results of athletic excellence and experience worship through the arts.
Are you or your child curious about what the transition looks like from Kindergarten to Elementary... Elementary to Middle School... or Middle School to High School? Come get a taste!
In the coming weeks, we will have open house promotional materials for our families and staff to share at your churches, in social groups, and with your family and friends. We will also be asking for and depending on your participation to showcase what God is doing at Columbus Christian.
Please begin praying for this event and for attending families who are weighing what public, private and home school options could look like for their child. We all know what that is like! There are exciting things happening and together we look forward to giving God the glory for His work in and through the lives of students, families and Columbus Christian School.
Building His Kingdom for eternity,
Kendall Wildey
Superintendent
P.S. CCS will also be coinciding the Open House with a special STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) family night at CCS led by Cummins. Be on the look out for information coming soon!
Elementary Chapel
Scripture: John 14:1-7, Ephesians 2:8-9
Message: No matter what you do and how hard you try, you cannot save yourself. You have to go to God. Keep your relationship with God strong by reading the Bible, praying, and worshiping Him.
C.J. Reed has attended Columbus Christian since Preschool. What a blessing it is for the elementary students to have older students, like C.J., to look up to.
Middle & High School Chapel
Scripture: Genesis 6:5-8, Genesis 7:11-16, Matthew 24:37-39
Topic: Our Ark and Refuge of our Faith
Based on the article, written by Mr. Ridder, for his newspaper.
First, it demonstrates the accuracy of the Bible because all Scripture - including the book of Genesis - is the divinely inspired word of God.
How can anyone believe that stuff?
The God of the Bible exists, and He is the one, true and living God, and He can do anything He wants according to His holy will (Psalm 115:3).
Secondly, "The Ark Encounter" impressed upon me is the significance of the world-wide flood.
What truth do we encounter in Genesis 6-8 where this account is divinely recorded?
- We encounter the judgment of God against human sin. (Matthew 24:37-39)
- We encounter the mercy and patience of God in the account of the flood. (1 Peter 2:5)
- We encounter the saving work of Christ through the Ark. (Peter 3:18-19)
Questions:
- Will you consider God’s judgement against sin? Are you prepared for eternity?
- Will you respond to God’s love, patience, and mercy?
- Will you call on God to save you believing that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sin and was raised from the dead?
* Due to technical difficulties, only the first half of Mr. Ridder's talk is recorded. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Senior Class of 2019 Fundraisers
The Columbus Christian School Drama Department proudly presents their spring musical: James and the Giant Peach. This is sure to be an eccentric evening of entertainment for the whole family!
This show is a delightfully offbeat adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl adventure. An orphaned boy is sent to chop down a fruitless tree by his conniving and dreadful aunts. There he meets an enigmatic stranger that concocts something special resulting in human-sized insects with overgrown personalities. This show has a wonderful medley of fun and heartwarming songs and laugh out loud moments!
James and the Giant Peach the musical words and music by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, book by Timothy Allen McDonald based on the children's book by Roald Dahl.
Doors Open at 6:30pm, Show begins at 7:00pm
Tickets: $7 for adults / $5 for children (Under 3 are free)
Tickets available at the door or in advance by calling the school office at (812) 372-3780.
The 2019 CCS graduating class will offer concessions during intermission, proceeds benefitting their senior class trip to NYC.

My Best for You - 5th & 6th Grades
The My Best for You workshop for children in grades 5-6 and their parents/guardians, empowers parents/adult mentors to create environments that model God’s plan, honor a child’s curiosity, and equip the whole child to make healthy decisions. We want to lay a foundation of truth so, when they reach adolescence, they are prepared to avoid selfish sexuality and all its consequences, yet still prepare them to enjoy a healthy expression of mature sexuality within marriage.

CCS Verse of the Week
Where is God at work around you?
He has divinely placed you in your school, work, neighborhood, church and family to influence others and tell them about Jesus Christ. If the door is open to proclaim His truth, will you trust the Lord to do His work and courageously walk through it?
